Kofi Kingston Surpasses 1,000 Total Days As WWE Tag Team Champion

Kofi Kingston has reached another milestone.

With numerous tag team title reigns, including a record-breaking run as having the longest title reign in WWE history, Kingston has now surpassed 1,000 days holding a tag team title. He is the only person in WWE to ever accomplish that feat.

Kingston is currently the SmackDown Tag Team champion with Big E, having won the belt on the November 8 episode of SmackDown when the duo defeated The Revival. As part of the New Day, Kingston held the SmackDown Tag Team titles five times, more than any other team in history, and the Raw Tag Team Championship on multiple occasions. Kingston also holds the record for the longest single reign as a WWE tag team champion in history at 483 days. In addition, Kingston won tag team gold teaming with Evan Bourne, CM Punk and R-Truth.

This year has been a big one for Kingston not just as a tag team wrestler, but as a singles wrestler as well. Back in April, Kingston defeated Daniel Bryan at WrestleMania to win the WWE Championship for the first time. Kingston held on the title up until October 4 when he lost to Brock Lesnar on SmackDown's premiere episode on FOX.
