Kofi Kingston: We Want All The Gold In New Day

Kofi Kingston is greedy.

While it may seem like New Day is riding high with Kofi Kingston being WWE Champion and New Day being SmackDown Tag Team Champions, they still want more. Speaking to Jim Varsallone of the Miami Herald, Kofi talked about other titles on the New Day's radar.

"I want all the titles, man. Me, [Xavier] Woods, and [Big] E are real greedy, especially when it comes to gold. We want all the gold. The 24/7 Championship, the Tag Team Titles, the Raw Tag Team Titles, we might just take the Women's Title if we want to. We get real greedy. Anything and everything is in the cards."

Kingston successfully defended his WWE Title at Extreme Rules, defeating Samoa Joe. On the same night, Big E & Xavier Woods captured the SmackDown Tag Team Titles in a triple threat bout.

It's been a very successful year for Kofi, who went from tag team and midcard mainstay to the top of the mountain when he defeated Daniel Bryan at WrestleMania 35.

"The term 'card subject to change' is very real. There are times when we're in the ring, and you think you have a certain amount of time for a match and all of a sudden, you have half that time, and you have to find a way to tell that same story," said Kofi. "That happens on a larger level, in terms of peoples careers. You never have any idea where your career is gonna go. I have been blessed to have so many great moments in WWE, but it can be a stop and start kind of thing. I learned really early that the only thing I can control is my effort and my performance in the ring. You always have to believe that there are greater things to come."

Kingston's next title defense will come at WWE Smackville, a live special on the WWE Network on July 27 where Kingston will face Dolph Ziggler and Samoa Joe in a triple threat bout.
