Konnan tried to get Kenny Omega involved in AAA Triplemania XXX.
At AAA Triplemania XXX, Konnan had a very busy night. Not only was he attacked by The Vipers, but he would later come back out to get his revenge. He also confirmed that he was the new head of talent relations for AAA Lucha Libre and there is one specific talent that he wanted to be involved in the event that couldn't be because of legal issues.
Konnan revealed that he wanted Kenny Omega to be a part of the show by sending in a vignette directed at the winner of the Mega Championship match between Rey Fenix and El Hijo del Vikingo, but unfortunately, he was not able to because of the legal situation he is currently facing following the backstage altercation at AEW All Out 2022 between The Elite and CM Punk.
Konnan revealed, while talking about Tony Khan's interview with the Ariel Helwani during a recent episode of his podcast, K100, that he had asked can he personally to send in footage and Kenny told him he was unable to.
"I don't think it does any good for you to go out there and say, 'No comment, no comment,' and I know there are some legal issues because I actually asked Kenny Omega if he could send me a video for Triplemania, [directed at] whoever wins between the Vikingo and Fenix because, you know, he's the number one contender, and he goes, 'I still can't because of legal issues.' So there is something legal going on."
Kenny Omega is the former AAA Mega Champion. Kenny won the championship from Rey Fenix in October 2019 at AAA Heroes Inmortales XIII. He was even accompanied by Konnan during his match at Triplemania XXIX against Andrade El Idolo. Kenny Omega eventually vacated the title in November 2021 due to the fact that he was battling multiple injuries. the title would be picked up by El Hijo del Vikingo on December 4 at AAA Triplemania Regia II.
Vikingo would end up defeating Fenix after a highly competitive match up but unfortunately, there was no vignette from Omega and a match between the two remains a fantasy booking scenario for now.
