Takeshita and Okada would team together at AEW Dynasty against The Young Bucks in the opening bout of the main card. As The Bucks would set up the Meltzer Driver on Okada, Takeshita would seemingly look to stop the move from landing before allowing The Bucks to hit it, leaving the ringside area and Okada to be pinned by The Bucks. Now, Takeshita has explained himself in a backstage segment.
Following the bout in a digital exclusive posted to AEW’s social media pages, Renee Paquette would look to get answers from Callis, Okada and Takeshita, asking Callis ‘what happened out there’, leading to Takeshita mockingly apologizing for the moment.
Don Callis: “What happened out there, Renee, is there was a two-on-one situation, Two Bucks. Hey, Takeshita, what happened? Two-on-one, what happened?”
Konosuke Takeshita: “It was an accident. Oops. (To Okada) I’m so sorry.”
