Kota Ibushi Says He Just Learned About Lights Out Steel Cage Match At AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door
Kota Ibushi wasn’t in the know.
‘The Golden Star’ will return to the ring at the Forbidden Door, as he’ll team with Kenny Omega, Hiroshi Tanahashi, Will Ospreay, and Darby Allin to take on the Death Riders, Gabe Kidd, and the Young Bucks in a Lights Out Steel Cage match.
As it turns out, Kota Ibushi was not informed about the match ahead of time, joking about the short notice on Instagram.
“I just realized. Haven’t heard anything but it’s decided!! ️WTF❗I was told there might be England. Mr. Tanahashi, oh, President Tanahashi is here!! It’s been a long time since I’ve seen Golden Ace, and they fought well with the Ospreay, so I guess it’s the first time they’ve teamed up? The other person is in trouble. Huh? Gabe? I guess not. After returning to Japan from Okada, I took a break for a while. There’s still time!! ️Train now not tomorrow! I can’t wait.”

The match was made official on Wednesday’s episode of AEW Dynamite.
