Kota Ibushi Says He Will Undergo Another Surgery On September 17

Kota Ibushi is set to undergo another surgery.

Last year on AEW Collision (October 11), Kota Ibushi suffered a broken femur. He underwent surgery shortly afterward and had to undergo another surgery after a screw came loose.

On social media, Ibushi revealed that he’ll undergo another surgery because the plate they inserted in his body during his surgery wasn’t strong enough and will need to be replaced with a thicker plate. His next surgery is scheduled to take place next month on September 17.

“It’s official‼️‼️ Well, I guess that’s just how it is… but I want this to be the last major surgery of my life. Apparently, the plate I had put in in the U.S. was too weak to heal properly (only now⁉️), so I’m scheduled for surgery on September 17 to replace it with a sturdier, thicker one. I’m told I basically won’t be able to play contact sports, but maybe I’ll be able to make a comeback? Well, either way 🙆‍♂️ I hope the day comes when I don’t have to take strong painkillers anymore 😊”
