Kris Statlander: “I Feel Like I’m A Better Athlete Now Coming Out Of My Knee Surgeries Than I Was Before”
Statlander speaks about overcoming her injuries.
Throughout Kris Statlander’s journey in All Elite Wrestling, she has suffered two ACL injuries but has overcome both and has gone on to become the TBS Champion and is the reigning AEW Women’s World Champion.
Statlander opened up about bouncing back from those injuries while on The Masked Man Show. She stated that she feels she’s a better athlete coming off those injuries.
“The second time, when it (ACL injury) happened again, I was like, ‘It’s the end of the world again. Oh my God. I can’t believe I have to do all this again.’ But then, I was like, ‘Okay, I’ve been through this before. I know I can do it again,’ and again, I just really focused on my rehab and really making sure that I would be able to do everything I did before, and I feel like now having gone through all that and really learning how to fine tune my training or whatnot, I feel like I’m a better athlete now coming out of my knee surgeries than I was before.”
Statlander’s title reign began at All Out in September. Her next defense is scheduled for the Full Gear pay-per-view on 11/22 against Mercedes Moné.
