Immediately after Willow Nightingale lost the AEW TBS Champion to Mercedes Mone, she lost her friend as well.
Kris Statlander initially helped Willow out of the ring, pushing down Stokely Hathaway for chastising Willow for her loss, but it was all a ruse as Statlander laid out Willow on the ramp.

Statlander and Stokely got involved in the AEW TBS Title bout, distracting the referee as Willow had Mercedes pinned following the Babe With The Bomb.
Statlander and Willow first teamed in August 2023, but were opponents when Statlander held the AEW TBS Title and at AEW Worlds End. Their matches against each other led to a stronger friend and respect, with Hathaway campaigning to manage the duo in early 2024.
