Kurt Angle Thought The Finish To The 2023 Women's Rumble Was The 'Best Finish He's Seen In Years'

Kurt Angle has high praise for the 2023 Women's Royal Rumble Match.

When Kurt Angle praises your match, you must be doing something right. The finish of the 2023 Women's Royal Rumble Match would see Rhea Ripley, Asuka, and Liv Morgan all fighting on the apron and hanging on for their very existence in the match.

The end of the match came when Asuka sprayed blue poison mist into Morgan's eyes, allowing Ripley to get a bit of distance and eliminate Asuka before shortly thereafter eliminating Ripley despite a brief hope spot from the fan-favorite.

On the most recent episode of the Kurt Angle Show podcast, the WWE Hall of Famer praised the match as being worthy of five stars, specifically praising the finish of the match.

"I thought it was a great Royal Rumble and I'm not gonna lie to you the women's finish of the women's Royal Rumble was the best finish I've seen in years," said Kurt. "Rhea Ripley — the way that that match ended was incredible. I was so impressed by it. I have to give the women five stars for that match."

As for the matches that are set for WrestleMania, Cody Rhodes vs. Roman Reigns and Charlotte Flair vs. Rhea Ripley, Kurt Angle is expecting both Royal Rumble winners to come away with championship gold at WrestleMania.

"Without a doubt, I think those matches are going to be really, really good," said Kurt. "You know, Cody Rhodes. I'm expecting him to win this thing. I think it's his time and Rhea Ripley, I wouldn't doubt if she won it, too. She's been up and coming. She's been pretty strong lately. So, you never know."

Throughout his illustrious career, Kurt Angle has never had the pleasure of winning a Royal Rumble nor has he ever left WrestleMania as a World Champion. Kurt Angle has entered WrestleMania as the world champion on two occasions and left several Royal Rumble events with gold, but the closest he's ever come to winning the Royal Rumble is being the runner-up in 2002 before losing to Triple H.

As for this year's WrestleMania, Kurt Angle says he has pitched some ideas as to how he could be used since he feels that he might as well be used since he's going to be an attendance anyway. Fans can read more here
