Kurt Angle Wishes He Wrestled Bret Hart, ‘That’s My Kind Of Guy’

Kurt Angle reiterates that Bret Hart is his one ultimate dream opponent.

Bret Hart’s final WWE match and Kurt Angle’s debut WWE match are just two years apart. However, the eras each man represents seem like night and day. Ultimately, Hart would retire shortly after Angle’s professional wrestling journey began.

Still, Kurt Angle has never been shy about saying that he wishes he could have wrestled “The Hitman,” and now, he’s reiterating that point during a recent interview with Sports Illustrated.

“Bret Hart, I would have loved to wrestle Bret. I talk about technical matches; he had some of the best, and he’s my kind of style. That’s my kind of guy that I like to work with. I think Bret and I would have had a five-star, incredible match.”

Ultimately, Angle never got to wrestle Bret, but he did face Shawn Michaels, one of Bret Hart’s biggest rivals. Angle believes that Shawn Michaels is the greatest overall wrestler in the history of the industry.
