Kyle Fletcher talks about his new pink gear, which is becoming a staple look for him.
Kyle Fletcher recently debuted new gear that is bubblegum pink-colored. He has new pink merchandise and wears pink sunglasses along with the gear.
Speaking to Fightful's Iridian Fierro for Chicago's WGN Radio, Kyle Fletcher revealed that the inspiration for the gear came from a tweet that he saw asking why not enough male wrestlers wore the color pick. With that, he realized he loves the color and decided to design New gear around it.
"I think it was a tweet that I saw, and it was like, 'Not enough male wrestlers wear pink,' and that was enough in my brain to go, 'Oh, my God, I love the color pink.' No guys wear the color pink. Then, I literally just messaged my gear designer, and I was like, 'What do you think, triple pink?' He was like, 'Yes,' and then we just started working on it, and by the time it was done, I put out a tweet myself after we'd done designing it and I'd ordered it, I was like, 'I have just designed my favorite gear of all time. Yeah, it won't be here for a while, but you'll know when you see it,' and that was the gear."
Kyle also revealed that the pink merchandise was his design, and he asked the company if they could release the shirt with the new gear.
The color pink is iconic in the world of wrestling. It's primarily associated with Bret Hart and Owen Hart. These days, when male wrestlers wear pink, it is most commonly in tribute to the Harts. The New Day's Big E, Kofi Kingston, and Xavier Woods are some exceptions, as during their long run as babyfaces, the color pink was heavily associated with them.
Elsewhere in the interview, he spoke about the growth of the Don Callis Family. Read his comments on that here.
