Kyle Fletcher reflects on telling his mother he wanted to be a professional wrestler.

Fletcher is just 26 years old but has quickly become one of AEW’s top stars in the past two years since splitting from Aussie Open and becoming a singles star without his tag team partner Mark Davis. However, things didn’t always look so good for Fletcher, even when it came to his family.

While speaking to Hammer and Nigel in a new interview, Fletcher was asked about how his parents reacted to the news he wanted to be a full time pro wrestler, with Kyle noting that his mother actually laughed at him when he first told her.

“Dude my mum laughed at me when I said it, she was like hahaha, then I wasn’t laughing and she went ‘wait you’re serious?’, and then it was kind of like she went (gibberish) ‘ok’ I guess probably not really expecting much to come from it. But then a couple of months later I went ‘ok I’ve applied for my visa now I’m gonna go!’ I think she was not the happiest at first, maybe a little bit scared.”

Elsewhere in another recent interview, Kyle Fletcher spoke about Kevin Knight and his potential. You can read more about that here.
