LA Knight Promises He Has A Surprise For Ted DiBiase, Says He 'Needs' Ted Around In NXT

LA Knight is living the dream and he wants Ted DiBiase to stick around and experience it with him.

At NXT TakeOver: In Your House, LA Knight became only the fifth recognized Million Dollar Champion in history, joining Virgil, Steve Austin, and Ted DiBiase Jr and Sr.

Konosuke Takeshita: I'm Craving Your Belt, MOX

He earned that championship by defeating Cameron Grimes in a Ladder Match and spoke to Tommy Dreamer on Busted Open Radio about what the victory means to him.

"As a kid, watching the Million Dollar Man run around with that belt. It's next level and here’s a guy that I’m talking to right now, Tommy Dreamer, who actually booked me my first extra spot, where I had a dark match in 2006 for the first time. We’re talking about a long journey to get to where we are," said Knight.

Knight also hinted at a surprise coming for Ted DiBiase, whom he wants to stick around.

"Ted’s still going to be around. I need him. I want him to be there. I think I have a pretty big surprise coming for him because I owe him big time at this point. So, I definitely want to make sure that he’s around, for sure.”

Tommy Dreamer also opened up about feeling like the Million Dollar had been restored in terms of prominence and the former Eli Drake attributed that to the shortlist of names that have held the title throughout its 32-year history.

"100%. You talk about a belt with such a shortlist of names who held the thing. So to me, for a thirty-year history with a belt that has such a shortlist, that makes it so much more prestigious, puts it on another level, and I think this is the first time it’s been fought for on such a level. A Ladder Match, something like that, [on[ such a special occasion.

“I don’t want to sound like I’m here brown-nosing and doing the company thing, but if I’m honest, I think NXT’s gotta be, I’m going to say probably the best wrestling show on TV right now. I think that’s because there’s a little bit of something for everybody. The different creative juices that are getting moving and just the way things work on that show. It’s next level.”
