Peyton Royce came into the WWE as a pair with Billie Kay and has been adamant about the fact that Billie Kay will be her only tag team partner. Lacey Evans feels like Peyton is missing out on an opportunity because of her stubbornness.
Since Peyton Royce & Billie Kay were split up by the 2020 WWE Draft, Peyton was almost thrust immediately into a tag team with Lacey Evans. While this is largely due to circumstance, Peyton Royce has been adamant that she will not ever be in an official tag team with anybody other than the woman she considers to be her soulmate.
Speaking with TV Insider, Lacey Evans revealed that she has high hopes for the tag team of Peyton Royce and herself and believes that they could reach new heights if Peyton would just let go of the past.
"I show up on Monday for Raw. I’m one of the first ones there and the last ones to leave. I’m going to continue to hunt for opportunities. That’s what she doesn’t understand [channeling her onscreen character]. She lost her tag team partner. I didn’t do that. The [IIconics] got separated. Peyton gets thrown to Raw. Whoever that was as her partner? I think her name is Billie [Kay], I guess. She is gone to SmackDown. What do you do now? You adapt and overcome. Sometimes it takes two to overcome. She does not realize the opportunities we have if we were to work together. Let’s go behind the scenes and take those opportunities. She is so wrapped up with her ex-partner, she is going to end up missing out. That’s not my problem. I’m sure she is sick of me tagging her on social media. Once again, I don’t care."
For Peyton Royce, it is about more than just stubbornness and her desire to only team with Billie. She recently spoke out on social media saying that she wants to spread her wings as a singles competitor. As for Billie Kay, she takes solace and what the tag team was able to accomplish.
