Lacey Lane (Kayden Carter) Recalls Conversation With Members Of WWE’s Women’s Division About Ageism In Wrestling

The conversation was struck up amongst WWE’s women’s division.
After seven years with WWE, Lacey Lane, f.k.a. Kayden Carter, had her time with WWE come to an end when she and her partner Kacy Catanzaro were released from the company.
The pair have made appearances since their respective departures, and they did a joint signing with K & S WrestleFest. As the signing went on, Lane recalled a conversation that members of WWE’s women’s division had about ageism in wrestling and how it is different for the women in comparison to the men.
“I was having with the girls — we were talking one day, and I was talking to Naomi and all them girls, and we were like, ‘How come it’s glorified for men to be in their prime and they’re in their 30s and their 40s and they’re like, yes! They’re so amazing, they’re good but then as soon as the women get into it, they’re like, oh, they’re washed out, worn out’ and I’m like, no, we are looking phenomenal, we move phenomenal. I don’t know why that’s not a praised thing for the women because the women are doing their thing.” Host mentioned that 35 is not old for anyone, “No, but that’s what they make it seem like. That’s the taboo now because you’re bringing in the young people, and the young people are calling the people in their 30s, they’re calling them old, or vets… you know what I’m saying? You’re tired out.”
