Lady Frost Talks Tony Marino Being Her Grandfather, Recalls Being Asked To Sign A WWE History Almanac

Lady Frost has an fascinating family lineage.

In case you’re unaware, Frost is the granddaughter of Tony Marino/Battman, a multi-time tag team champion that primarily wrestled for the NWA from 1956 to 1977.

Chatting with Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp for a new interview, Frost talked about the little known fact.

“So I think it was most notably known as the Battman, but he did tag with Bruno Sammartino and they did win titles in the NWA. I just got handed a WWE history almanac and someone said, ‘Will you autograph this?’ I was like, ‘What are you bringing me a WWE book for?’ But yeah, my grandfather was in it. She had me autograph it. I was thinking, ‘Now I have to go get this book because that’s wild.’ But back then he didn’t really talk about it. I wasn’t privy to any of that. I didn’t go to the studio shows. I did see magazines and all of that and it’s really cool to get that history now because people will bring me articles and, like I said, autograph a book with him in it. So it is in the bloodline.”

Elsewhere in the interview, Frost recalled cutting her first wrestling TV promo. Fans can check out his full comments by clicking here.
