Lana Thought Women's Tag Team Titles Were Being Introduced At WWE Evolution

Lana was given false hope.

The long rumored Women's Tag Team Titles in WWE still have not seen the light of day. The female WWE superstars have been pushing for the belts for months and with WWE pairing up more-and-more women into tag teams, they seem like a foregone conclusion. Many thought the belts would be introduced this past October at WWE Evolution, the first-ever all-women's pay-per-view, but the event came and went without new titles.

Speaking to Markeia McCarty of The Nerdist, Lana revealed that she thought WWE Evolution would close with the big reveal.

"One of these days we're gonna get tag titles. We have to do that," she said. "I was hoping that we were going to announce it (at WWE Evolution). When they told us we had to come out at the end, I was like, 'Oh, they're gonna announce tag titles. It's happening!' Then it was like, 'Oh, this is just a major hope spot.' But, we keep on going. It's gonna happen and it's exciting to work towards those things."

Sasha Banks, Bayley, Naomi and more have been very vocal in pushing for Women's Tag Team Titles. The only superstar who hasn't supported the idea is Nia Jax. Twitter user BeltFanDan reported that the belts were "done" back in July. There is currently no word on when the belts will be introduced.
