Leila Grey discusses why she used the same name for music and wrestling.
Name changes in pro wrestling have been known to cause a significant amount of discourse for wrestling fans, largely related to the changes talent go under when they sign with WWE, or later leave the company. For Leila Grey, her lack of name change across two industries is a decision born out of not wanting to go by more than one name in entertainment.
While speaking to RJ City on the latest episode of Hey! (EW), Leila explained why she didn't want to change her stage name when she jumped from music to pro wrestling.
"For music, actually. Yes, because I am a singer slash kind of a rapper. But yes, Leila Grey was actually my music name, my stage name that I was using to perform under as. Then when I started wrestling, I'm like, well, I don't want to create another name. I can't have all these names out there. So I just decided to use Leila Grey for that as well."
Elsewhere in the same interview, Leila recalled being on the set of a Drake and Bad Bunny music video until 5AM. You can read more about that here.
