Leon Slater Answers Carmelo Hayes’ Open Challenge On WWE SmackDown

Leon Slater made his way to WWE SmackDown, answering the WWE United States Open Challenge of Carmelo Hayes.

Slater is the reigning TNA X-Division Champion.

Hayes was victorious in the match, making his third successful title defense.

The finish saw Hayes hit a front facelock top rope cutter

Slater was scheduled to compete at the TNA iMPACT! on AMC premiere on January 15th against Myron Reed, but the match was quietly pulled from advertising. Reed ended up signing with AEW alongside the rest of the Rascalz. Slater was also scheduled to defend the X-Division Title at TNA Genesis on January 17th, but he was pulled and replaced by Joe Hendry.
