Leon Slater Posts GIF In Response To Reactions To Him Being Pulled From Indie Dates For WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event

It is official that at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event on December 13th, which will feature John Cena’s final match, there is going to be a WWE World Tag Team Championship match.
The current champions, A.J. Styles and Dragon Lee, will defend against the duo of Je’Von Evans and TNA X Division Champion Leon Slater.
After the announcement of the tag match, Slater was pulled from Revolution Pro Wrestling and wXw Germany dates. Fightful Select learned that the date agreement between Slater and wXw had been locked in since March 2025. There was a multitude of reactions to Slater being pulled from the indie dates, and in response, Slater posted a GIF of the cartoon character Tom Cat plugging its ears.

It was said to @FightfulSelect that while wXw is fully aware of Leon Slater’s busy schedule, this weekend’s show appearance was agreed between wXw and Slater as far back as March.

The 21-year-old Slater is currently factored into TNA and NXT storylines. He was a part of the men’s Iron Survivor Challenge match at NXT Deadline.
At the 12/7 TNA iMPACT taping, he participated in an eight-man tag team match.
