Leon Slater Wants To Break The Record For Most Title Defenses As TNA X-Division Champion

Leon Slater wants to break more records.
TNA Slammiversary was a life-changing moment for Slater, as he was able to take down Moose, ending his 260+ day reign with the X-Division Championship.
With his win, Slater shifted the record books, becoming the youngest X-Division Champion in history. The Amazing Red was the previous record holder.
In a new interview with Denise Salcedo, Leon Slater was asked about his plans as champion.
“I’ve been thinking about this, right? Ever since Sunday, I’ve been thinking about where I want to take this and what I want to do. Honestly, I feel like the world is my oyster with the X-Division Championship. There’s so many people within our roster that I’ve yet to face off with, KC Navarro, Jason Hotch, all the Rascal guys that I’m looking forward to stepping in and mixing it up with. But of course, it’s 2025 and you never know who’s gonna show up on what show, right? Whether it’s a very proud Canadian that wants to step up, whether you’re a saint, where you’re a young OG, I’m looking forward to welcoming all challenges, man. I think there’s this time old thing of people, especially in recent TNA history, people are saying like, ‘I want to be a fighting champion.’ I’m on that same energy, you know what I’m saying? I want to be a fighting champion and I’m down to prove it. We’ve already broken one record with me being the youngest and I kind of like the sound of having the most title defenses too.”
