Leon Slater Names His Three Favorite Moments From TNA X-Division Championship Reign

Leon Slater had some great moments with the TNA X-Division Championship.
Slater’s first run with the belt came to an unfortunate end back in May, as he was defeated by Cedric Alexander in a two-out-of-three falls match.
During a recent conversation with Sports Jedi Network, Slater was asked to name two or three of his favorite moments from the title reign.
“I would say moment number one, the beginning of me and Je’Von. We didn’t touch, we didn’t move a muscle. We stood there and people stood up, we got a standing ovation before we even touched. I think that was a testament to the work that he was doing in NXT and a testament to the work I was doing in TNA.”
With his next pick, Slater chose his Victory Road match with Myron Reed.
“Number two for me would probably be the match itself against Myron Reed. That was the first time I’ve ever main evented at TNA pay-per-view in a singles match. Not only to have a killer match against someone I’ve looked up to for a while — I used to watch Myron’s highlights on the way to training. Not only to have a match against him but for the company to trust us to go and deliver the main event of a TNA PLE, that’s something super special.”
Slater also proceeded to show love to two of his WWE appearances.
“I’m tossing and turning between John Cena’s last match and being on that sort of stage as the X-Division Champion and doing SmackDown in my home country as the X-Division Champion. That’s like 3A and 3B for me, you know what I mean? Both super special moments obviously.”
Leon Slater will get a chance to reclaim the X-Division Championship at TNA Slammiversary, as he’s set to take part in an Ultimate X match for the title.
