Many legends from Sting's past were part of the match in some capacity with Ric Flair and Ricky Steamboat getting involved in the action and Magnum TA, Arn Anderson, Diamond Dallas Page, and Lex Luger sitting ringside.

Appearing on Busted Open Radio, Luger commented on being at the arena for the match.

"Incredible atmosphere. When I first heard, I asked him, 'Are you guys going on last?' I guess they debated that a little bit. Sometimes, those pay-per-views, they do a warm up show. It was hot in there and sometimes you can lose the crowd, but that crowd was phenomenal. They stayed hot. They got us out there so we could soak up the atmosphere," he said.

DDP noted that they were off-camera.

Luger said, "WWE is classy. They said we can go, just don't be on camera, interview, or be part of the match. It was an incredible evening."

WWE acknowledged Sting's last match on WWE Raw with Michael Cole and Pat McAfee praising Sting and the match.
