Lexis King takes credit for the John Cena Classic.
John Cena had promised an announcement for WWE Backlash that he said would “shock the foundation” of WWE. During the event, Cena finally made the big announcement: a new tournament where NXT wrestlers would go up against the main roster talents. There will also be a new championship called the Cena Classic Championship. Fans can read more about it here.
On social media, Lexis King said that he was actually the one who gave Cena the idea for this tournament.
“I’ve had some great talks with John Cena at the PC over the past couple of years, he has given me some life-changing advice on several occasions and then I said, ‘You should host a tournament, call it the John Cena Classic.'”
