Lil Yachty: People Assume Wrestlers Are Getting Cut To Pay Me. I’m Not Getting Paid That Much. I’m Losing Money

Lil Yachty addresses how much he’s making from WWE.
Yachty has been part of WWE TV for months, dating back to before WrestleMania when he began working alongside Trick Williams. Yachty is one of the most popular recording artists in the world, and he’s prioritizing wrestling over recording or touring.
“I never tried to make anyone believe how invested and how much I love this because it’s not for the money. I don’t want anyone to think I’m getting some crazy check. I’m losing money. I’m losing money doing this. I love it. I love everything about this shit,” he said while speaking to Chris Van Vliet on Insight.
Later in the interview, Yachty was speaking on wrestling fans, and addressed claims wrestlers are getting cut to pay him.
“They be like, ‘Man, this is who you’re wasting TV time on?’ They also assume that wrestlers are getting cut to pay me. That’s not happening. They’re not cutting wrestlers to pay my bills. I promise. I’m not getting paid that much. I don’t want anyone to think all these fantastic wrestlers are getting cut to pay my salary. That’s not the case,” he said.
Yachty went on to express his love for Ilja Dragunov, who didn’t get cut, but decided to not renew his contract.
Elsewhere during the interview, Yachty discussed his in-ring debut at WWE Sunday Night’s Main Event. You can find his full comments here.
