Lio Rush (real name Lionel Green) filed to trademark his wrestling name on May 10.

The description for the trademark is for “Entertainment services in the nature of professional athletes competing in professional wrestling or sports entertainment; Entertainment in the nature of wrestling contests; Entertainment services, namely, wrestling exhibits and performances by a professional wrestler and entertainer.”

WWE filed for the "Lio Rush" trademark on January 9, but its application is currently under review with a request for additional information. The request states WWE "must clarify whether the name LIO RUSH in the mark identifies a particular living individual.” WWE requires a “written consent personally signed by the named individual. If the name is a pseudonym, stage name, or nickname, applicant must provide the following statement: ‘LIO RUSH identifies, a living individual whose consent is of record.'”

WWE has six months from April 1 to respond to the request or the application will be abandoned.

Rush was released by WWE on April 15 as part of the company-wide cutbacks due to the coronavirus pandemic.
