Lita Was Only Asked To Work WWE Elimination Chamber, No Plans Beyond Becky Lynch Bout

Lita will return to the ring for her first female singles bout since 2006 when she challenges Becky Lynch for the Raw Women's Championship.

Lita has wrestled a handful of multi-women matches, and even faced Heath Slater in a No DQ bout in 2012, but hasn't had a proper singles since her full-time run ended in 2006.

She returned to WWE at the women's Royal Rumble and previously stated that the bout against Becky came together last minute.

Speaking to Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated, she confirmed that there are currently no plans beyond WWE Elimination Chamber.

"Currently, I was just asked to do this match. I know everything can change in WWE at the drop of a hat. There is a lot of opportunity here, and just because there are no current plans doesn’t mean there won’t be. This is also allowing me to focus on the task at hand, which is to put on a killer match and not focus on anything else except Elimination Chamber," she said.

Should Lita step into the ring again past WWE Elimination Chamber, she singled out Rhea Ripley as someone she would like to work with.

"The roster is so deep. There are limitless dream matches on their roster right now. Rhea Ripley is one of them. She’s so young, but she’s already so powerful and grounded. It would be an honor to work with her," she said when asked who she would like to wrestle from the current roster.

While making the media rounds ahead of WWE Elimination Chamber, Lita confirmed AEW did reach out to her. You can find her full comments by clicking here.
