Liv Morgan Was ‘Pissed’ During Recovery From Shoulder Injury: “I Feel Like I Got Injured In A Moment Where I Had Multiple Things Going On For Me”
Morgan felt things were going well before the injury.
It was at the 2025 Survivor Series: WarGames Premium Live Event where Liv Morgan returned to WWE after being sidelined since June 2025 due to a right shoulder dislocation that required surgery.
Morgan spoke about that injury while chatting with Rick Ucchino of The Takedown on Sports Illustrated. She stated that she was ‘pissed’ throughout her whole recovery. Morgan felt that she had good things going for her before the injury.
“Yeah, I was pissed, I was mad. I was mad my whole injury. I was mad the whole entire time. I feel like I got injured in a moment where I had multiple things going on for me. I was really enjoying and loving what I was doing so to have that taken away from me for an extended period of time, I was angry. I was quite literally angry the whole entire time that I was recovering. So I feel like I came back with a little bit of a chip on my shoulder, just because, I felt like my career was taken from me, and I did not appreciate that… And I was like, ‘Why the hell did this happen?”
Following up on that, Morgan says she has to settle on the thought that the injury happened for a reason because now she’s the 2026 women’s Royal Rumble winner.
“I have to settle on believing that it happened for a reason. So yes. I have to believe that this happened for my greater good at the end of the day, even though I didn’t believe that the whole entire time that I was injured, and so yes, I will settle on this injury happened so that I could come back, finally win the Royal Rumble, finally headline WrestleMania and walk out a champion. Which one? I don’t know but, walk out a champion nonetheless.”
Morgan has yet to decide if she’ll challenge WWE Women’s World Champion Stephanie Vaquer or WWE Women’s Champion Jade Cargill at WrestleMania 42. She is appearing on SmackDown on 2/6 to address Cargill.
