Liv Morgan Wasn't Always Fond Of Her Ring Name, But Grew To Love It

Liv Morgan is one of Monday Night Raw's top stars in early 2022 but her WWE journey began many years ago and every moment shaped her future.

One of a Superstar’s most important features is their own name. A name can be make-it-or-break-it in the world of WWE Superstardom.

Born Gionna Daddio, Morgan always wanted to be a WWE Superstar but when it came time to pick her name, she wasn't sold on the surname of Morgan even though she tells Wrestling Inside The Ropes that she grew to love the name.

She would also say that the only other option WWE gave her was “Liv Gallows.” Ultimately, she chose Morgan.

"The real background is that you know when you arrive to the Performance Center. When it's time to create your character you send in a list of names, right? I must have sent in three different lists of names. I thought, 'Oh, my names are so terrible.' All the names that I picked, they thought it was so bad. So literally I show up to TV one day at Full Sail for NXT taping and they pulled me aside and they were like, 'Alright, you're either Liv Morgan or you're 'Liv Gallows. I was like, I guess I pick 'Liv Morgan.' I always liked the name Liv I didn't really like Morgan, you know, but I grew to love it. I grew to love it all.

"I found so many little puns to use Liv for and little fun little things I can use so. SmackDown Liv, You Only Liv, Once, Liv is live, watch me Liv. I mean, I can go on."

Morgan is currently embroiled in a program with Becky Lynch and if she can defeat Bianca Belair and Doudrop this Monday on WWE Raw, she'll get another shot at Becky at the Royal Learn more here.
