Logan Paul Talks Returning To Boxing, Says WWE Has Been Very Accommodating

Logan Paul likes the violent nature of boxing.

WWE star Logan Paul will compete in his first boxing match since 2021 at The Prime Card on October 14; he will face Dillon Danis in a heated bout. Pul previously fought Floyd Mayweather Jr. in an unscored exhibition bout, and he lost to KSI in 2019.

Speaking on The MMA Hour with Ariel Helwani, Paul was asked to comment on his decision to return to boxing.

“I don’t know what else to do, Ariel. I really don’t know what else to do. I have this frame that is attuned for combat. I like to work hard. I like to beat people up. I like when they try to beat me up back. It’s a good vehicle for the business that I’m building. It’s just a good platform and I love it," Paul said.

Helwani asked whether Paul did not scratch that itch in WWE. Paul responded by stating that boxing is more intensely violent. He explained that he feels like he is built for combat. Paul also stated that both boxing and WWE ignite a certain part of his brain that the other does not. He then stated that he likes bouncing back and forth between boxing and WWE.

"Boxing is just so much more intensely violent. Both sports have their danger and both extremely primal. I often feel like I’m born in the wrong generation. I like the idea of two men, two women, humans going at it with all they have. I don’t know, I just feel like I’m built for it. Boxing ignited a certain part of my brain that wrestling doesn’t, and wrestling ignites a certain part of my brain that boxing doesn’t. I like going back and forth. Also, who’s doing it? I gotta make a legacy somehow," Paul said.

Paul was then asked to describe how competing in boxing works with his WWE contract. Paul noted that they have to find a time in the schedule. He made it clear that he aims to win titles and take over in WWE. For that reason, he stated that he has to find time to box and wrestle. Additionally, Paul noted that WWE has been very accommodating.

"We gotta find a time in the schedule to carve out a time to box. I am technically a full-time wrestler. I’m on the roster, I have a contract, and it’s also a goal of mine to get WWE championships. I didn’t just come to partake. I came to take over. You don’t do that if you’re hopping in and out of the sport. So we gotta find time to box and find time to wrestle, and they’ve been very accommodating," Paul said.

In the same interview, Paul confirmed that WWE tried to set up a fight between him and Nate Diaz. Check out his comments here.
