Sadiq Khan calls on Triple H.
It was in 2024 that London Mayor Sadiq Khan met with WWE Chief Content Officer Paul 'Triple H' Levesque and WWE President Nick Khan. All three expressed their ambition to bring WrestleMania to London, England.
As Khan was speaking to CNBC’s Tania Bryer during the ‘Opening Remarks - Welcome to SXSW London’ panel on 6/2, he expressed once again that he wants WWE's biggest show of their calendar year in London.
He gave his opinion that the potential of WrestleMania has not been reached and if WWE wants to hit that point, London is the place to go.
“I’d love for WrestleMania to come to London. Triple H, if you’re watching, we want WrestleMania to come to London.
If WrestleMania came to London, my message to the team there is that we wouldn’t just have a great weekend, we’d have a festival, of you know, legends in WrestleMania coming to London, current stars, but also future stars as well. It will open a completely new market for them as well.
I think the potential has not been reached in terms of WrestleMania. We are the sporting capital -- in my view -- of the world. And if WrestleMania wants to expand, the obvious place to come is London.”
WrestleMania 42 was scheduled to take in New Orleans, Louisana. Paul Levesque confirmed that New Orleans is not hosting the 2026 event.
Fightful Select has a story up about the WrestleMania location move. That can be read here.
