Los Lotharios: We Use Real Crowd Members, Not Plants, For The Kiss Cam During Live Events

The Los Lotharios aren't tree-hugger's (or a plant-kisser's).

Los Lotharios, consisting of real-life cousins Angel and Humberto, are enjoying a tenure on WWE SmackDown as a successful tag team. The family duo often find ladies in the crowd to create a Kiss Cam segment, something that was made popular at sports games around the United States.

In a new interview with TV Insider, Angel and Humberto revealed that they only use real crowd members for the Kiss Cam during live events. But when it comes to people used on TV, it's a different story.

"During live events, we do a normal crowd member. Right now, we got to make sure during TV they are safe, especially with COVID. There is even testing. I remember back in the day during Raw, I would do that spot. I was asking for kisses from the ladies. By the beginning of the pandemic, I stopped doing it."

Angel also poorly reflected on some of his tweets from the beginning of the pandemic, citing that his kisses would cure COVID.

"We didn’t realize how big it was that I was still doing it. I would joke that my kisses were the cure for COVID. Right now, those words are killing me. They are like, “Remember these tweets”—I totally messed up. But the “Kiss Cam” was something I brought to the table. What if both of us do some kiss with some ladies? We started working on that. It came out great. We are getting those reactions we want. I think it is going to work even better."

Just a few days ago, WWE filed a trademark on the Los Lotharios tag team name -- meaning the team could have big plans in the future.

Humberto recently took on Madcap Moss on the 4/15 edition of SmackDown. Click here to see Fightful's full review of the show.
