Lucha Underground Confirms Fourth Season For 2018

Lucha Underground will be back, despite reports to the contrary.

The promotion announced on their Twitter this morning that they would be back in 2018. In a short video, Johnny Mundo talks about what he has done in previous seasons, then talks about what he will do in season 4. The graphics at the end then mention that a fourth season will be coming to the El Rey Network in 2018.

Lucha Underground's future had been in question for most of the year. Season 3, which only finished about a month ago, was taped over a year in advance, stretched out over most of 2017. It seemed unlikely as recently as a couple of months ago that it would return, mainly due to them needing to find someone that would finance the next season as the people who financed the last two seasons won't do it again for a fourth. It seems with this announcement, they do have the money to continue forward.

The promotion will look a bit different, as one of its biggest stars will not be in the fourth season. The season three finale wrote out Ricochet's character Prince Puma, and he seems to be heading somewhere else, according to reports.
