At WWE Clash At The Castle 2022, Sheamus and Gunther would meet at the event with the WWE Intercontinental Championship on the line. At the event, the Brawling Brutes and Imperium would also feature, with the two factions brawling to the back before Gunther and Sheamus would begin their bout. The match between the two would be a hard hitting affair with Gunther eventually walking away with the victory and Sheamus receiving a standing ovation following the bout.
While speaking to Sports Jedi Network in a new interview, Luke Menzies (formerly known as Ridge Holland) spoke about the bout, noting that Pete Dunne helped put the singles match together, while also mentioning that Dunne is ‘a genius.’
“Sheamus had that match with WALTER (Gunther), which obviously Pete (Dunne) helped put that together, because he’s a genius.”
