Lyra Valkyria stepped into the ring with Becky Lynch at WWE Backlash, successfully defending her WWE Intercontinental Championship in a hotly contested affair.
Lyra and Becky shared the stage with Randy Orton vs. John Cena, as the two faced off for the final time in a rivalry that defined an era.
Speaking to Alistair McGeorge of Metro, Lyra reflected on the Backlash bout.
"That’s probably the sorest I’ve been after any match. I’m getting extremely used to that feeling now of just knowing it’s fight or flight, biggest show, biggest opportunity. I either have this or I don’t, but I gotta just go. But I was just looking at that card thinking, “I have to hold my ground here and prove that I’m worthy of being on this. And then to have so many people saying “match of the night”, and to be commending it, I’m very proud of that one," she said.
Lyra and Becky are set to meet at WWE Money in the Bank.
