The bout made Valkyria emotional.
Starting off the in-ring action of WrestleMania 41 night two was a Triple Threat match for the WWE Women's World Championship. The result of the bout saw IYO SKY retain over Bianca Belair and Rhea Ripley.
It was a match that made current Women's Intercontinental Champion Lyra Valkyria emotional and she shared that sentiment while speaking to Dublin Live.
“I was on the show that night (when Ripley/SKY/Belair had their Triple Threat match). I was watching backstage and I almost ruined my makeup! I had tears in my eyes as I was watching. There will be women - and even men - that start wrestling because of that match. I really think that. And, you know, for them to be inspiring me as a champion on their roster - I can't imagine the effect it would have on women watching at home.”
That same night, Valkyria and Becky Lynch captured the WWE Women's Tag Team Titles. Their reign ended the next night and Lynch turned on Valkyria.
The two are now set to clash at Money in the Bank with the Women's I.C. Title on the line.
