Malakai Black Wins PROGRESS World Title

Malakai Black quickly captures gold.

At PROGRESS The Odyssey Tour on September 6, Malakai Black won the PROGRESS World Title, defeating Cara Noir in the main event.

This was Malakai’s first non-Dark Arts match since his WWE release in April. This is also his first reign as PROGRESS Champion. Noir’s reign lasted 126 days. He made two successful title defenses.

Sunday marked Black’s return to PROGRESS for the first time since 2017. He won the Super Strong Style 16 tournament in 2017 and is a former PROGRESS Tag Team Champion. He has challenged for the World Title in the past, but had never won the belt until Sunday.
