Mandy Rose Says She Felt Claustrophobic Waiting In The Elimination Chamber Pod Last Year

Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville share their past experiences in the Elimination Chamber.

It was in February of 2018 that Sonya Deville and Mandy Rose were locked inside of the Elimination Chamber structure with four other competitors whom were all vying for the RAW Women's Championship. This year, Mandy and Sonya will be back in the structure as a duo as they join Sasha Banks and Bayley, Nia Jax and Tamina, Carmella and Naomi, Sarah Logan and Liv Morgan and The IIconics as teams that are competing for the WWE Women's Tag Team Championships this Sunday at the ninth installment of WWE's 'Elimination Chamber' pay-per-view.

The likes of Liv Morgan, Sarah Logan, Nia Jax and others in the match have yet to step foot in the Chamber and 'Fire & Desire' (Sonya Deville and Mandy Rose) feel that it gives them an advantage. Both Deville and Rose spoke with Yahoo! Sports and recalled their respective experiences in last year's Chamber match and Mandy shared that she became claustrophobic while sitting in the pod as she waited to be released.

"There are certain rules for Elimination Chamber and going into the match, Sonya and I were tag team partners in Absolution. Even though it wasn’t a tag team match last year, we still worked together. There’s definitely a lot more intricacies to prepare for in a match like that as opposed to a regular singles match. Paige always gives us advice before matches and she was so happy for us to be involved." Mandy said. "She’s been wrestling for a while now and has a lot of experience. Paige always acted like our mentor and gave us that confidence right before we went out. Being in the pod, you feel a little bit claustrophobic and you’re waiting for that buzzer to go off that sets you free. It’s almost even more nerve-wracking because you’re stuck in this little cube and you can’t wait to get out. I was a little bit nervous about that. It’s one of those things where the anticipation is, 'Oh my God' as you can’t wait to get out of there. But once it buzzes and you finally get out it’s an incredible 'wow' moment."
