Margot Robbie talks John Cena in 'Barbie'.

Back in April, a trailer for the film revealed that Cena had been cast in the highly anticipated movie in a small role. Since the news broke, many wrestling fans have been excited to see Cena in the film, as he has yet to be shown in any of the trailers.

In a new interview with Chris Van Vliet, Margot Robbie, who is the leading star of the film, told the story on how Cena ended up being in the movie.

“While we were shooting in London, I ran into him at a restaurant. We had worked together before, actually I ran into him because I went to pay the bill and they were like, ‘John Cena already took care of it’. I was like, ‘What? Where is he, he’s hard to hide’. I found him and was like, ‘What are you doing here?’, he was shooting at [the place we were shooting Barbie]. I was like, ‘Do you want to come be a merman in Barbie?’, and he was like ‘Yeah.’ Surely he’s not going to agree to it just like that, and he did. He’s so awesome like that, yeah.”

'Barbie' is due out in theaters on Friday, July 21.

Cena is also featured in other upcoming movies such as 'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem', 'Vacation Friends 2', and 'Coyote vs. Acme'. The former WWE Champion was also featured in 'Fast X', which released earlier this year.

Earlier this year, Cena spoke about the parallels between 'Fast X' and 'Barbie'. Fans can learn more by clicking here.
