Reality came to television in 2019 when WWE used Maria Kanellis' pregnancy for an angle on Raw. Though Maria is married to Mike Kanellis (Mike Bennett) in real life, WWE shot an angle where Mike was allegedly not the father of Maria's baby.
The angle didn't have a conclusion as Mike and Maria were pulled from television around the same time Mike asked for his WWE release in October.
Taking to social media to respond to a fan, Maria revealed where the angle was headed before being dropped.
Mike Kanellis went public with his addiction to painkillers and recovery in 2017. WWE released a mini-documentary on Mike's recovery in October 2017. Mike & Maria were released by WWE on April 15.
