Marina Shafir Says Teaming With Megan Bayne Was ‘A Wonderful Side Quest’

Marina Shafir reflects on getting to team with Megan Bayne after an injury to Penelope Ford.

When the AEW Women’s Tag Titles were debuted late last year, one team that was set for the tournament to crown the first champions was Penelope Ford and Megan Bayne but after Penelope suffered an injury, Bayne would team with Shafir while Ford recovered on the sidelines.

While speaking to New York Post Sports in a new interview, Marina Shafir reflected on teaming with Bayne.

“That was a wonderful side quest that it just opportunity opened up. Megan needed a partner. I really have a lot of respect for her. She works her ass off. She’s so much more than she thinks she is, and it was just it was very easy being myself. It was, you know, we just meshed really well. But yeah, it was everything kind of happens for a reason. Like, unfortunately, it happened with Penelope and then Megan and I became a thing.”
