Mark Briscoe is going for gold.
During the July 6 episode of ROH Television, Eddie Kingston, fresh off winning the NJPW Strong Openweight Title, challenged Mark Briscoe to step up and go after Claudio Castagnoli and the ROH World Title at ROH Death Before Dishonor.
Kingston said the fans needed Mark to be the ROH World Champion.
Later in the show, Mark said he was ready for the challenge wanted to follow in his brother Jay Briscoe's footsteps. He said it was his time to go after the ROH World Title. Claudio appeared, warning Mark to not listen to Kingston.
Claudio said if he needed to pull Mark down from reaching for the sky, he would do it. He said if Mark wanted the match, he could shake his head.
Mark shook Claudio's hand, making the ROH World Title bout at Death Before Dishonor official.
