Mark Briscoe answers why he thinks he’s still considered an underdog, believing it’s his natural little brother personality.
Since beginning his career in All Elite Wrestling, Mark has been a staple of the promotions midcard and is a former TNT Champion in the promotion. Many fans however still see Briscoe as an underdog when he’s competing in an AEW ring.
While speaking to The Wrestling Classic in a new interview, Mark Briscoe was asked why even after becoming TNT Champion that people still consider him an underdog.
“I don’t know, man. I think it’s just, I’m (just) like a natural little brother. You know what I mean? My bigger brother, Jay, he was always my bigger brother. You know what I mean? I still consider him my bigger brother, and so I think that just kind of built into my personality. He always had to- he was like, we all used to joke, ‘You’re going to be the world champ. I’m gonna be the TV champ.’ You know what I mean? Just so I think I got the little brother personality, and at the same time, it’s like, I would never, ever, ever, ever let him show me up or never, ever, ever, ever let him do something that I wouldn’t do, and now if I’m going to do it as good, that’s one thing, but I’m a damn sure try it. So I think, I don’t know. Maybe it’s just a natural little brother personality. I don’t know.”
Elsewhere in the same interview, Mark noted that he trusts Takeshita so much he’d let him babysit his children. You can read more about that here.
