Mark Davis plans to ‘recompensate himself’ against Andrade El Idolo at AEW Redemption where he defends his AEW National Championship.
At AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door, Team Mark Briscoe and Team MJF would face off in a multi man tag team steel cage match at the event. During the bout, Andrade El Idolo would turn on team MJF and the Don Callis Family, proving to be a foil for the family in recent weeks and is currently scheduled to challenge Mark Davis for the AEW National Title at AEW Redemption this weekend.
While speaking to Jeremy Lambert and SP3 on Fightful Overbooked’s In The Weeds, Mark Davis spoke about Andrade’s betrayal and their bout coming up this weekend.
“This is a new MacBook. The last one that I was watching on got thrown across the hotel room. I’m looking to, yeah, I’m definitely looking to, I don’t know, get my… recompensate myself this weekend for that against Andrade. It’s frustrating, man. It’s frustrating not being able to be there. Fantastic setup. I think the match itself visually looked amazing. I think in situations like that, sometimes as a wrestler, you’re like, hey, you’re going to be placed into this cage match or placed into this situation and you don’t understand the full picture of it until you’re looking at it. The giant circle cage surrounding the ring was an amazing visual for me personally to look at. But just to have somebody that we welcomed into the family with open arms, tried to give all the tools in the world to succeed, then turn on us to cost us a loss in such a high-profile position is… It’s honestly so frustrating. It really is very frustrating and so for me that’s a big motivator in coming after Andrade this weekend.”
In a recent interview, Will Ospreay had praise for Mark Davis. You can read more about that here.
