Mark Wheeler: I’m With Alpha-1 Wrestling Until I Die Or It Dies, Ethan Page Is The Most Passionate Person I’ve Met

In February 2024, Alpha-1 was reopened by Ethan Page after a near three-year hiatus.

Though Page signed with WWE in May, Alpha-1 has continued to run events in Canada.

Speaking to Jeremy Lambert & Joel Pearl on In The Weeds, Mark Wheeler was asked about the current status of A1.

“A couple of guys have stepped up. I’ve been there for a long time. The main guys who are helping are me, BMD, and Reece, he helps us out. We help operations while people are away living the dream,” he said.

Asked if Ethan Page is still involved, Wheeler said, “I don’t want to speak much on that, but I will say that Page is the most passionate person I’ve met in my life. He was my first wrestling mentor in terms of getting me to the states. Being part of A1 is cool because it’s my home promotion. That was the first show to really give me opportunities against names. I did a three months feud against Hornswoggle there and it ended in a hardcore match. You can’t top that. I got my chops there and I learned how to be a real good bad guy there. Having it back has been unreal. Our last show was our biggest show we had. Steve Corino was there, which was awesome. He reffed the main event. The cool thing with A1 is, thanks to Page being a world traveler, all his friends want to come work for us and help us out. We’ve been very lucky with the names who have come in, who have been very humble and cool. They just want to wrestle on a good show. It’s a lot of work but A1 is like my home and baby promotion. Until the day I die or it dies, I’m going with it.”

Wheeler will compete at C4 Fighting Back, the annual event raising money to fight cancer. Fans can donate here.
