Mark Wheeler has nothing but positive things to say about Steve Corino.
For nearly a decade, Steve Corino has dedicated his time to helping the future of professional wrestling, working as a producer and coach for NXT.
Even outside of NXT, Corino remains committed to the future of the business, often attending various indie events. While speaking with Jeremy Lambert and Joel Pearl on In The Weeds for a new interview, Mark Wheeler recalled Corino being the referee for one of his matches in Alpha-1 Wrestling.
“Yeah, he’s very cool. He gave me feedback on a promo and a match. He did commentary on the first half of the show and was very nice. ‘Good footwork, nice strikes,’ he gave feedback on the promo, which was positive. For what he’s done, you’re going to find this in wrestling, the guys and girls who travel the world are the most humble people, because they’ve done it. Steve is still there at NXT and very busy. The fact that he took time out of his day to come over and critique us. My students, who are on the show, I had two guys on the show, he was spending time with them and they were picking his brain. He didn’t try to rush them or anything. He was very cool. He stayed for an hour or two after the show and talked. It was super cool.”
Elsewhere in the interview, Wheeler pledged his allegiance to Alpha-1 Wrestling, calling Ethan Page the most passionate person he’s ever met. Check out his full comments here.
