Masha Slamovich Discusses The Differences Between Growing Up In Russia And The USA

As it turns out, certain parts of Ohio might not be that different than rural Russia.

Appearing on the latest episode of Callihan Uncensored, Masha Slamovich discussed her childhood and the difference between growing up in Russia versus the United States. The IMPACT star was born in Moscow but stated that her parents, who immigrated to America before she was born, would travel back and forth between the two countries.

"You know, it's the same but different. Me being from Moscow, I still lived in a major city which had public transit that was easily accessible, and supermarkets, and sh*t. When I would go visit the rest of my family in different parts of Russia, like, Rostov-on-Don, and places in what is now modern day Belarus, like Minsk and Mogilev, we would even go out to our farmhouse, which had candles and no electricity, and we had an outhouse, and one of those like pizza ovens where you put the pot in and boil your stuff," she said.

Slamovich would add that American kids didn't really care that she was Russian, but the same could not be said about the Russian kids who found out she was also American.

"It was always different depending on where I went. The culture was just a little bit different, because when I was younger, as a kid in Russia, if they caught wind that I was an American kid, they would all be like, 'Nah, f**k you,' because of the propaganda and stuff. But in America no one really give a fuck," she said.

Callihan would bring up the architectural differences between a city like Moscow and what you would typically see in the USA. Masha would then explain the significance of the cathedrals.

"Yeah, so we have like a bunch of cathedrals because, you know, they're everywhere. Greek Orthodox is the predominant religion over there, so we all go to these little corner cathedrals and f**king set up candles and pray and sh*t. In further out places that aren't Moscow, it's probably like parts of Ohio where it's really ramshacky and you have the local barn with a cross nailed to the wall. You know, no running water. We still go fetch water from a well or the local river and fu**ing bathe in the river and stuff like that. So it really depends on where you go, you know what I mean?," Slamovich said.

Slamovich competed at the latest IMPACT PPV, defeating Killer Kelly in a Dog Collar match. You can view the complete results from Against All Odds by clicking here.
