Silas Mason: Jax Dane Was A Great Champion, But He Was A Better Father And Husband. I Hope To Be Able To Live Up To That

Silas Mason wants to live up to Jax Dane.

Throughout the first half of 2025, the NWA hosted a memorial tournament for Jax Dane, who passed away in late 2024. Along with Silas Mason, other stars like Colby Corino, Kerry Morton, and Max The Impaler took part in the tournament.

Speaking with Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp, Silas Mason talked about getting to take part in the competition.

“It’s something with Jax, man. I love him and his family, man. My heart goes out to him and luckily, San Antonio was one of the places I got to go on the Thrill Of It All tour. Jax Dane, there’s where he won the NWA Worlds Heavyweight Championship and it was just a special moment to be there. What’s funny is I didn’t know that before I had even went there, but I had just packed my Jax Dane memorial shirt in my bag just unbeknownst to me. Then, someone told me that whenever I got there, hey, did you know that the last NWA Worlds Heavyweight Championship match was Jax Dane winning it. Man, it was an honor to be able to compete and carry on that legacy because he’s the kind of man — he was a great champion but he was a better father and a better husband. I just hope just to be able to live up to that.”

Elsewhere in the interview, Mason spoke about his work in ‘The Iron Claw’ and how he is Zac Efron’s favorite wrestler. Check out his full comments by clicking here.
