Matt Cardona reflects on Zack Ryder's hit song "Hoeski."

In the early 2010s, Zack Ryder became a phenomenon in the WWE Universe. Z! Eventually, Zack Ryder would use the momentum he garnered from the web series to win his first-ever WWE United States Championship and even release his own song.

"Hoeski," a track about romance gone wrong, was released a decade ago. Matt Cardona has now said he would love to re-release the track, but unfortunately, it's not his decision to make as WWE owns the song.

"Believe it or not, this is the 10-year anniversary for Hoeski this week," said Cardona to Love Wrestling's Spencer Love. “Listen, I don't own the rights to that song. If I did, I would definitely re-release it. But it's not up to me…. Yeah, it's all WWE stuff. If they want to re-release it, please! But yeah, unfortunately, it's not my decision."

Matt Cardona recently took some steps toward owning his WWE character's IP. Recently, he trademarked the name Zack Ryder for purposes of merchandise and wrestling. Learn more here.

In the past, Cardona has said that he still dreams about becoming WWE Champion. Fans can learn more about that here.
