Matt Cardona Would Listen To WWE Offer To Return, Wouldn't Give Up His Podcast

Matt Cardona has established himself as one of the top stars in wrestling outside of WWE and AEW following his WWE release in April 2020.

Cardona is currently active in GCW, IMPACT Wrestling, and NWA, becoming a main event player in each promotion. He is set to take on Joey Janela at The WRLD on GCW in one of the top matches on the night.

With Cardona's buzz at arguably an all-time high, Bully Ray asked him if he would return to WWE the night after Hammerstein if they called.

"Yeah, I definitely would listen, but I'll tell you right now, if one those things were 'you can't do your podcast,' I would say, 'thanks, but no thanks.' That would be a deal breaker. There would be no way. If they were going to take away everything I have built with Brian Myers, something we tried to do in WWE, the Major Wrestling Figure podcast, we pitched it to them and they didn't want it, they didn't the podcast or anything to do with collectibles. I think they've since had a failing podcast network and they tried something with collectibles. I've had so much fun with this and it's setting me up for life after wrestling where I would never sacrifice that. I don't care how much money they gave me. If they said 'you can't do your podcast anymore,' I wouldn't do it," he said on Busted Open Radio.

Cardona has started a whole podcast network with Myers since both men were released by WWE focusing on figure collecting, their respective wrestling careers and interests, and more.

Elsewhere during the interview, Cardona revealed he pitched entering to "Enter Sandman" at Hammerstein. You can find his full comments by clicking here.
